Cason M. Kirby

I would like to personally welcome you to the online office of the SGA president. Our office’s first priority is the advancement of student interest in a cooperative relationship with the University administration. However, all students play a vital role in this mission. I hope that our website provides an accessible and informative look at the work of the SGA, and I encourage you to contact our office with any ideas or comments that you may have. On behalf of your student government, I wish you the best in your time at the Capstone.

Job Description:

The President is responsible for the oversight of all SGA business and ensuring the goals and missions of the SGA are accomplished. He serves as the head of the executive council and serves as the SGA liaison to the University administration, Board of Trustees, and Intercollegiate Athletic Committee.

Executive Cabinet

  • Chief of Staff – Richard Byrd – byrdre@gmail.com

    The Chief of Staff is the chief administrative officer of the SGA serving all branches and departments of student government as accountability officer and chief administrative coordinator of all SGA business.

  • Deputy Chief of Staff – Kirk Mattei – wkmattei@bama.ua.edu

    The Deputy Chief of Staff will serve as the President’s official arts ambassador and serve as a liaison to the Crimson Arts Council on his behalf. She will also work to better improve the relationship between all student governments in the City of Tuscaloosa on behalf of the University of Alabama.

  • Executive Advisor to the President – Jesse Woods – jesselwoods@gmail.com

    The Executive Advisor shall serve as the personal aide and advisor to the president. He shall act as the president’s official agent and will advise the president on all internal and external decisions in student government.

  • Attorney General – Allison Crawford – macrawford1@gmail.com

    The Attorney General shall serve as chief law enforcement officer for the University of Alabama Student Government Association and shall advise all officers thereof of their duties and responsibilities in carrying out the oaths of their respective offices.

  • Director of Administration – Adam Diamond – ajdiamond@bama.ua.edu

    The Director of Administration will coordinate all appointed officials of the student government association executive branch and hold them all to account through administrative action and policy implementation.
